I'm a Woman

Today, I just declared in front of Yus that
All Men are Bastards.

All men, regardless of race, language or religion are born with a genetic defect which causes them to

1) be less sensitive to change(s) in his partner's temperaments

2) have an extraordinary ability to ignore anger/irritation/sarcasm/disgust thrown directly at him by his partner

3) enter standby mode specially when the partner is enthusiastically explaining and expressing her feelings

4) compulsively repeat the same actions which partner finds displeasing

5) have a disturbing mindset that women are complicated when they are the ones making things complicated for women

6) show signs of life only when these items are found near them: boobs, butts, soccer, cars.

7) be able to dispose of a partner who has been dedicated to him for a decade; metaphorically-speaking, like a person who disposes his well-worn slippers only to find another pair to be worn til its soles expire.

8) have underdeveloped minds which greatly impedes maturity growth and which also stops their EQ development at 0%.

**********

My darling boyfriend's response:
"If I knew you were like this long time ago, I would have left you"

*throws slipper at his face*

Defending manhood through and through.
They are all the same I tell you.

Wooow...

Who went to catch the Fireworks Festival at Esplanade on Sat raise your hands!
*raises hands and waves vigorously*

I told you before I loooove fireworks. Who doesn't. But I'm not that enthu to come all the way to the Esplanade Walkway at 5pm and set up a nice comfy home for a show that starts at 9pm and ends at 915pm.

I am, however, enthu enough to pay $23 for a HippoRiver ride specially to watch the fireworks. Whee!

And HippoRiver is NOT the Hippotour Bus. It is a boat. And no, it is NOT the Ducktour boat which is essentially a half-bus-half-boat thingy.
Almost EVERYBODY confidently said: "Ohh you mean the Ducktour.." When I told them I'm watching the display on a HippoRiver. Still want to debate with me some more you know! I know I'm Queen Blur Sotong but I'm not totally hopeless ok.

******
Had a lovely meetup with Faddy and for awhile before that. Glad to know my brain's still there and kind of working from those deeeeeep conversations.
Something which CANNOT be done when with Yus.
OK lah, to be fair, let me just say wallowing in bimboticness seems to be a second nature of mine. Hehehe.

Oh and I can't help but say Pizza Hut's Chic'ago (linguini with chicken bits) is POWER MAXIMA. Although it's the cheapest among the other pastas, I think the taste surpasses some of the other expensive ones.
So food lesson #1, price do not matter, ok kids. (Sorry no pics because I was too busy talking intellectual talk. Haha!)

********

Back to fireworks.

The sky was dark and it was raining during the day but thank God it was reduced to a slight drizzle as the show neared. And the best part was, the HippoRiver was not jam-packed with people. There was plenty of room for everyone.

So I couldn't help but laugh evilly at all those people cramped like sardines along Esplanade Walkway.. the Bridge.. and surrounding Merlion.. Heheh.

Below is the HippoRiver. But mine has more seats and looks more comfortable. Not trying to boast but really!

Splendid view as the Hippo chugged along...

Me and Yus managed to snag the Best View on the boat. We had to push a few people into the river to get that place you know. It very much faces the display directly so it was as though the fireworks were falling on us. Beeeuuutifoool.

And for those who missed out on the show, I've recorded 8mins of the show specially for you! AAAAWH!
Ok lah.. Actually right, after snapping pictures of the fireworks continuosly for 3 mins, I realised that I might as well take a video. Hahaha. Anyhoo, hope you'll enjoy it :)

Part1:

Part2:

FYI, I didn't zoom. What you're seeing is actually what I saw. But of course my experience was way better lah. Haha.

Oh and I'm sorry if you were distracted by my "Wooow". Hahaha. My sister said I sounded stupid, sarcastic and monotonous. Hearing it again, I admit it's abit potong steam ah.. But I was actually very excited ok!

GORGEOUS RIGHT?
I love the way the sparks fell down. It looked as though many stars were falling down on me...
In a dreamy way, not in a kiamat way.

I forgot to tell you a suweeeet thing that happened before the fireworks display. I was happily settled down in my seat on the boat taking blurry, bad-angle-ish pictures when Yus presented me a Baby-G! Out of the blue!

But I looooove the sweet surprise and
THANK YOU MANY2 MY DARLING PENGUIN OF A BOYFRIEND!
*cuddles*
please do this more often.. teeheheeheh...

Below is a merepek arrangement of pictures because I am tired of uploading one by one. Hahaha

And below is a cute Turkish ice-cream seller. Hehe.

************
Fireworks are always magical to me.
Such a wonderful night it was.

Looking forward to next year's!
:)

P.S.: I'm in desperate need of a new cam! Anybody thinking of giving DSLRs for freeeeee?

Now we try

I've always believed I'm right but now I'm learning to know I'm wrong.
I am the storm that spoils a perfect picnic day.
I accuse, I expect, I'm blind.

But
I've listened, smashed my ego, and admit to my flaws.

Let's do this together and pray for the clouds to clear.
And when we emerge, pray we'll be stronger than ever.

You & Me

I like curly hair on some girls because they look hot
You'll say they'll look better with straight hair

I like Backstreet Boys and a mix of everything else which gets me grooving
You swear by Amok, Awie and superslow malay jiwangs

I think those blinking row of lights installed in your car front is gross
You're proud that your car is cool like that

I find it infuriating when you don't listen when I talk
You happily respond when I change topic halfway through your conversation

I swear you are a bigger bitch than me
You'll just shrug me off and say "whatever!" with the bitchy hand movement

I want to change my hairstyle 'cause it's boring
You threaten to grow a moustache

I think the picture below is retarded because my nostrils are flaring and it's just yucks
You exaggerate to say "waaah macam supermodel seh..."

I try to base my arguments on logic and true knowledge
You conveniently and shamelessly make things up along the way

I think it's ok to have coffee with a long-time male friend
You vehemently believe the guy has an agenda to make me marry him

I love your cute round tummy because it makes a good cuddle
You want washboard abs that'll feel like stone to touch

Now where's the fun in perfect agreement?

It's the amusing differences that keep the relationship in motion.

Rara Rawa!

Remember my little getaway I mentioned a few posts earlier......
It was one helluva memorable weekend 'scape to Rawa Island with my all time favouritest darlings!!!!

Bear in mind this post is suuuuuuper long because SOME people love to read long long posts about themselves. Heeyergh.
Anyhoo,
I hope the pictures will entertain you lest you got bored with my long-winded ramblings.
Get ready your popcorns!
:)

***********

I'm so excited just thinking about the trip again! And I've been browsing the pictures over and over again like a sex addict who can't get enough of porn. (Sorry cannot think of a better metaphor right now. haha!)

It was all very last minute, and by last minute I mean 5 days before we left. Haha!
I was happily eating mee rebus when Faddy msg-ed: "Beb, kau ade $500 to spare tak?"
At first my heart skipped a bit coz I thought she owed tailongs money. Hahaha.
Then after all the explanations, confirmations with the other totots, gedebak gedebuks, the plan was on!
It was our first time going overseas together and also the first time going to an island neither of us had heard of. So we were all jittery, trippy, drunk happy babes.

But before the actual meetup at 5.30am on Saturday, me and Pe'ah surprised ourselves over at Faddy's place on Friday night and invited ourselves to a sleepover becauuseee......

Yeap! Welcome to the 2-0 club bebeh!
And she loves her jacket soo much she can't stop saying: "I LOVE THIS JACKET!"

And it went on til the next day ok.
At first we were all "Yaaay! Glad you love it girl!!"
But she kept saying it until we just nodded politely and changed subject. Hahahahah.
*big hug*

Our Rawa trip is only a 1 night thing. So we would depart on a very early Saturday to catch the morning ferry to Rawa at Mersing Ferry Terminal, and then return home on the noon ferry on Sunday.

We had decided to hire a cab from Rawa's cab service, which would take us all the way from Singapore to the ferry terminal and also fetch us home on Sunday.

But! Insecurities and paranoia got the better of us and on Friday night, me, Pe'ah and Faddy were planning on how to escape if the taxi driver wants to rape and murder us and then take our kidneys to sell. We planned to:

** make pepper spray (pepper + tap water),
** buy taser guns,
** pretend we are constantly on the phone with a fake someone to hint to the driver that if we go missing, people will know,
**PRINT A MAP to Rawa!! so that if the taxi detoured into an unknown place, we would be ready to pepper spray him. hahaha that's the best....

Turns out all our paranoias were evil imaginations. Lucky we didn't carry out our plans. Haha!
The cab driver is friendly, has no ill intentions and 5 minutes into our journey, we were comfortably settled down, nerves calmed, and thoughts spiralling into wonderful imaginations of what may await us at Rawa.

We switched taxis somewhere in Johor to this gerek Taxi Uncle! He knows so much, was ready to share his experiences travelling the world, and the best of all, was willing to tolerate our karaoke sessions and constant blinding flashes as we camwhored in his cab. Turns out, he was first of the many friendly people we met in our trip.

**********

Arrived safe and sound at the Ferry Terminal. And by this time, we were all happy macam monkey! Even the butt cramps from the 3hour ride were gone! Because... we're only 30 minutes away! Whooopdedoo!

Hopping from boat to boat....

A very bumpy ferry ride which bobbed me and Pe'ah to sleep...

So this is Rawa...
:)

We were already so happy at Mersing with its dark green murky waters, you can't imagine our euphoria.
Jakun + Giggly + Gasping + Squealing + Jumping.. are only part of the equation in describing our feelings.

When we saw the blue blue waters from the ferry, we wanted to jump in straight off from the jetty. But we wanted the FREE welcome drink first. Heheh. Typical Singaporean lah hor...

Then we rushed to the beach squealing like four happy little piglets.
The sand is so so fine and soft and white!
And the water is cool and refreshing!
It was simply breathtaking......

While waiting for our rooms, we chucked our bags one corner, tore off our clothes and ran into the welcoming sea as though we were once mermaids!
Haha. No lah.. We're not so barbaric.
We ran gracefully like Baywatch babes into the sea with our sexy swimming outfits...

If you knew Faddy from her blog entries, you should know that one of her favourite camera shots is the Jump Shot.
So we jump jump jump on the shore while the other tourists looked our way in amusement (I think? Hehe).

Below is my favourite Jump Shot. Look at Nana's super squarish and weird jump. Hahahahaahahaha.

After all the jumping jacks and swimming in the water, we went to get rest. But got stalked by a peacock who was after our pringles. We named him Pringles.

Finally we got our keys and once again we were stumped by the awesome view from the verandah of our rooms.

We got two rooms and both were simple and clean. We made one room into the 'Messy room' and the other we kept it untouched for sleep. So after lunch, we properly chucked our bags and rested for awhile to reload our energy before zooming off to the beach again!

What happened the rest of the day was simply SHIOK!

First, we went SNORKELLING....!!

Below is another one of my favourite pic. Very cute right! Haha. And Nana (middle) looks down syndrome-ish. Hahahaha.

The reefs are not as colourful as Redang's but it was still fun to swim around in flippers and all while looking out for some weird fish species. And I must say, we roamed the sea like graceful mermaids. Teehee!

After happily swimming around, we decided to up the adventure by going KAYAK-ing.
And all of us had not kayak-ed before.
It was a really fun first try.
Quoting the Abang who mans the rental booth: "Good kayaking girls!"
Hahah.

We kayak-ed until we discovered new land!

Ok no lah.. it was actually the other end of the beach. Heheh.

After all the fun, we headed back to our rooms, hungry, and waited for dinnertime.
So what do you do to make time go faster?
We show you k...

I think if I put all of these here one by one you all will surely die of beauty overdose. Hahaaaaha!
Okk one last sweet pic.. Hehe!

The sunset was also very beautiful as we walked along the jetty to catch a bit of evening breeze after all that camwhoring...

After a BBQ dinner, it seemed like there was nothing else to be done. But since we had kind of made friends with the friendly people there, we managed to get a room to...
KARAOKE!
FREEE!
Whoowheewhoowhee!

Quoting the Abang in charge of the room (translated):
"You girls wanna karaoke until morning also can. If tired of karaokeing, can watch Astro. But don't forget to clean up afterward k."

Best right!

And to top off that well-spent day, we witnessed a spread of glittering stars amidst an inky black sky. And the most magical of all, A SHOOTING STAR!
:))))

Eventhough exhausted, I think I slept with a smile on my face.
:)

*************

We're not done with our adventures yet you know!
The next morning, we woke up eagerly because we had made plans to ride a HOBBIE CAT!
And no, it is not a big cat who has a hobby.
We had made friends with the Abang who mans the rental shop. He's name is Izar and he's reaaally very friendly and such a funny guy too.

So introducing Izar...

and his Hobbie Cat...

and us pushing the Hobbie Cat...

The ride was FUN FUN FUN!!
I love the feel of the wind and sun on my skin and how the hobbie cat rode the waves.
As we bobbed up and down the waves, we really felt like those angmohs with perfect tans, on top of boats looking over the sea with dolphins jumping in and out of the water alongside.
The only thing making us short of that image was the dolphins. Heheh!

So we went off toward another island to swim around and enjoy the beach all to ourselves.

Being on the Hobbie Cat humbles you because you will be dependent on the wind. It can choose to blow you all the way to China if it wants, you know. When we asked Izar the chances of returning back to Rawa safely, he just smiled mysteriously and said "I honestly don't know. Ask the wind." Takut, gegerl!

But the wind was kind enough that day to push us back to Rawa although it teased with us a little :)

Eh I got too excited about the Hobbie Cat experience.
Before the ride, we actually took a hike up to the peak to catch a super awesome view of the island.

Really really breathtaking...

Although it was blistering hot, we couldn't really bring ourselves to go off so soon. Yeap. The beauty was that hypnotising.
And if I was an immortal who knows how to swim, I would have jumped off that cliff into the sea, really.

Oh and before we leave, we made sure we got a bit of scandal to spice things up...
Heh heh heh heh.....

The Scandal:

Two lovebirds were found sitting quietly together watching the waves come in. It is known that the lady has to go far far away, leaving her lover all alone on this island, pining for her.
For confidentiality's sake, we shall name the lovergirl and boy F and I respectively.

Zooming into their conversation.....

F: Oh abang *ahem*, baby, you'll always be my number one!
I: Alamaaak.. so sweet! Takle angkat lah beb! *smacks forehead*

AWH! SO SWEET!
hehehehe

At the end of the whole trip, we emerged darker but so very happy.
Happy that we made friends with the Rawa staff, happy that our first time experiences were such a blast, happy that everything from the weather to the whole place was super fine, and just simply happy we did it all together.

It truly was a therapeutic, most wonderful trip with my very lovely darlings.

And they're so psychotic. If not for me and Nana schooling the next day, they wanted to go KL / pretend to miss the ferry for another night in Rawa. NAK MAMPOS.

Anyhoo. It doesn't change the fact that I love and adore them so!
:)

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Mari kitaaa yayat singgapuraaa sama sama serujuuuu...

At least that's what I heard from my pri sch Chinese peers.
Huhuhaha!

To me, national day is all about catching fireworks, besides the public holiday.
Hehe!
I have no idea why we get excited by colourful flames bursting.
I still scream in happiness when the fireworks burst lor.

So I met up with a bunch of crazy, indecisive people who walk at the speed of 1 metre per hour. I can fall asleep walking with them I tell you. But luckily their 24/7 nonsense kept me awake the whole time. Our main aim, like the aims of the other 297245 people that bombarded Marina, was to catch the fireworks.

This is Sod, a.k.a Giant with Dreadlocks a.k.a Walking Coconut Tree.

Who can see many many kilometres ahead of us and can tell whether got traffic jam anot. Oh also a very useful Landmark; so you can just keep a lookout for his head if you got separated from the rest.

And this is Sheera who still has the semangat to wear red because she said she is "patriotic"!
Very good Sheera! S.R Nathan, Sang Nila Utama all will be proud of you!
Teeehehehe.

Before catching the fireworks, we went for a short game of bowling...

We decided to stay around Marina Square and to go to it's rooftop to catch the fireworks. Was crowded with secondary school teens who already camped around the small strip of open air which faces the sky area for the fireworks.

And the fireworks was glorious! I simply loooove the golden golden ones..
Did they have fireworks by the bridge near Esplanade again? We couldn't see it from our view.. But I still think last year's fireworks was much grander.

Oh and I also heard this year's celebration was a HIIIUUGE disappointment? No live performances by any artistes?
Wow THAT is a bummer. The spectators should start throwing their clappers or torchlights onto the stage in protest!
I remembered the time I went to catch NDP in Pri 5. I enjoyed singing veeery loudly to songs like Stand Up for Singapore and Home sang by some artistes. And suddenly you feel all patriotic when you sing with hundreds around you.
In a way, these live performances are maybe the only thing that might ignite that small spark of patriotism in you, you know. And to think they excluded this! Tsktsk.

My all-time favourite NDP song is Home by the way.
Don't know what nonsense they came up with for this year's. No catch to the tune at all! Pffft.

Anyhoo, Happiest Birthday Singapore!
I am still praying for you to be less expensive to live in as you grow older.

The Long Overdue

Me and the boyfriend had caught The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
I've always been a fan of the O'Connell's adventures back from Mummy I and II.
So when this movie came out, it was a must-watch for me.

(ok this mummy is so not like a mummy. haha)

Although this time round there's my darling Jet Li in it, the movie is, sad to say, disappointing. At least to me la..
The movie got the boyfriend walking like a terricota soldier all the way back to the carpark
-.-

SPOILERS AHEAD!

This movie lacks the adventure and thrill simply because it's a bunch of humans with abnormally powerful guns chasing after one terricota emperor who don't know who to make full use of his powers. And basically, THAT'S ALL LOR!

I mean, if the Emperor could have a few terricota soldiers from hell to help him instead of that irritating human General and his irritating human soldiers who can easily be killed with guns, then I guess there'll be more thrill. Follow the footsteps of Imoteph, the resurrected Mummy King from the previous Mummy sequels. He resurrected the Guards from Hell who gave the O'Connells a good chasing, and us, a good thrill.

And the Emperor did not use his powers much to his advantage. But I like how he turned into one ugly hairy hell monster to bring down an airplane. Cooool.

Punchlines were sadly minimal. I even felt that John Hannah's role was a bit too subdued.

Minor discrepancies that I find really irritating because I can never get answers to them:

-Why, when the Emperor was found, he was standing erect on a horse carraige whereas while he was cursed to stone, he was cringing in pain on the floor?! Got time to pose when in pain meh??

- Why did the witch suddenly spoke in English while reading the Oracle of Bones when previously it was read in Sanskrit?! Totally took away the eerie voodoo effect. Blaaah.

-How come Yetis can understand English?? Yetis go to school isit?? Maybe if they understand Sanskrit ok la, granted. Cannot expect the witch to roar here roar there; it'll be too funny to be cool already.

Sorry guys, I tend to nitpick. Heheh.
And at the end of it all, I love the Yetis the best.
Haha!

Hope the next one would be better.
Ya! Got next one!
Because at the ending John Hannah was like saying: "See you in Peru"
Peru got ALOT of mummies leh! Whowhee!

Overall: 2.6 out of 5 popcorns
