Let me go.

This is Yuksam, North-East India..

This is where I've been hoping to go. It's one of NIE's Service Learning Club projects. To go to Yuksam, meet the kids and teach them about environmental awareness.

This is the project I was chosen for.

And this is the project I am not allowed to go for. This was the scenario when I received the news:

Ikah (dancing and whooping in front of Mak-eh): I am going to Yuksam! Wheee! Whoo! Yeeeha!
Pak-eh: Why are you so excited? What happened? Come here..
Ikah (dancing and whooping in front of Pak-eh): I am going to Yuksam! Whee! Whoo! Yeeha!
Pak-eh: No you're not.
Ikah: WHY??
Pak-eh: You're only a freshie. You'll never know what could happen there.
Ikah: But you'll also never know what will happen to you when step out of the house what... so might as well sit one corner and not do anything.
Pak-eh: Don't be rude. It's too dangerous.
Ikah: Where got! I'm going with alot of ppl, MOE will protect me and..
Pak-eh: No.
Ikah runs to room, sulking, pouting, tearing.
Damnit lah.

I don't know what newspaper article he had read that reinforced his protective nature towards me. OK, I know India sounds like a questionable place but this is a different part of India. The only dangers there are:

1) falling off from mountains, which is unlikely since we are not planning to conquer any
2) being chased by mountain goats or other mountain creatures (yettis n bigfoots are assumed as myths)
3) not wanting to leave the place coz it's so beautiful

And I'm going for a good cause, so God will protect me, Insyaallah. Worse case scenario, I'll die but I'll go to heaven cause it's shahid since I'm there in the name of helping the less fortunate.

But come on already. It's time to learn to let me go. *sigh*

I will use all my persuasive power to convince him slowly everyday. If all else fails, I will resign to Fate and force myself to believe that everything happens for a reason.

So God, pretty pls soften my Pak-eh's head of stone and pretty pls give me good articulation and patience so that I can convince him peacefully without it all turning into an ugly fight.

No Pok!

I dunno whether I'm outdated or whatever but this clip made my day. It has no pictures, only subtitles as it is a recorded conversation. So dun panic. Sit back and enjoy :)

Thanx Yasmin! So good to crack up so hard after a long tiring day. Evil people. And poor Indian maan... Still can tolerate some more. If I were him, I'd oreadi fold up my dhobi and send them flying all over the place in one kick.

Please don't trick me anymore.

I'm the kind of person who is very easily influenced. Now that I've declared it on the worldwide web I think may have invited a whole entourage of tricksters/phonies/insurance sellers etc etc to come and con me. Baaaaah.

Anyway, yesterday, in a short span of 5 mins, I let myself buy a product from an Indonesian cream-seller. And this was while I was waiting for Yus to buy something. I cannot take it la. He looked so earnest, so enthusiastic I cannot bear to say no. He even gave demo by putting the cream on my arm. "Very effective you know. Can be a sun-protection lotion, can be a whitening cream, will tone your skin colour. Look! your skin is toner oreadi." Hmm. Thinking back, maybe it wasn't for demo? *goosebumps* Yus was scowling when I bought the cream. What can I do? The man gave me a $5 discount. And it's only $10. This $10 can buy him lunch for 5 days you know. It's only $10......... *cringe* But Yus did not reprimand me much knowing my soft-heartedness. Thankfully.

The day before, I planned to just buy a foundation from Bodyshop. Then this saleswoman came along and stood by, looking very helpful. Suggesting this, that. Then when it was paying time, she whipped out her motif. A membership with Bodyshop. Big-eyed, convincing words, and before I knew it, I was filling up the form for a membership. Then she whipped out another "good stuff" and I walked out of the shop $50 poorer. Yargh!

Today I received a comment from anonymous who showed me this page:
It's about making money online. Getting millions in a month or something? By doing surveys and testing free product trials... Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.... What's wrong with these people? Why are they playing with my mind?? Are these tricks?? Yaaaaaaargh. Luckily I dun get to see this person personally. I think if I did, I think I may be persuaded into this scheme.

I think people should not deceive one another. It's wrong, you see! They're tainting our minds with their corruptancy. Why can't they just say out the truth. The WHOLE truth. Not part-truths or twisted truths. No fine prints. Wouldn't life be more guilt-free?? It's one of the stages to attain nirvana! *sigh* In this world today, you'll forever be conned if you're not a cynic.

Adventure!

Today waaasss.... CYCLING DAY! yes yes yes yes. The day started out beeeeeoootifully. Yus came over to have breakfast and to wait while I prepare the ration for today: Beef Bacon Pita! Of course, coming to my house, he had to adhere to MY rules. The rule for today is to wear the bunny haeadband! Teeehehehe.

And TA-DA! Proof that I'm worth my duit hantaran:

Sis said it was delicious. I was and am still soo proud *pats self on the back*.

Food and bags all packed, we cudn't wait to rrrramba!

So we cycled all the way till Kranji, following a huge drain that led straight out to the sea. A serenic and very make-me-wanna-take-photos-place.

Then we decided to plan our route. So here's what it was:

Jln Bahar -> Jurong West -> Jurong East -> Bukit Batok -> Choa Chu Kang
Little did we know that we planned our route to hell.

It started out ok at the beginning of Jln Bahar. We were still happily takin pictures.

As time passed and as our knees ached, we suddenly realised that this Jln Bahar route has MANY LONG UPHILL SLOPES.

First slope:
Yus: It's ok, ayang. It's only a bit more. Then it's Wheeeeee!
Me: Yeah! C'mon WE CAN DO IT! WHooo!

Second slope:

Me: It's ok. This is the last! Let's go and get over this!
Beb: YEAH!

Third slope and others after:
Yus Status: 3/4 dead, want to give up, it's time to push bike and walk
Me Status: 3/4 dead, kneecaps burning, skin burnt.

The thing about that road is that it gives us no opportunity to be cheerful. As soon as we thought we were going downhill and were prepared to go Wheee!, we only reached "Wh....' then it was panting, straining, gasping again. And when you're on the slopes, it seemed FOR-BLARDY-EVER to reach the top. Yus called it the Dead Man's Slopes. Which is symbolic since we were surrounded by cemetries. Hahaha.

After we thought we were going to end up in one of the empty grave holes, we finally came through the Horror and met with our Haven: The new Shengsiong at Jurong West. I swear Shengsiong was never as significant to me until this day. I could actually CRY in relief when I saw it. You cannot imagine the torture we'd survived.

YOU BET.

Sweating, red, hurting everywhere especially our buttocks, we looked like savages when we ate our Ice desserts.

This was still a long way from home. We had to cycle back and already we felt like sleeping in one of the empty hostels. But with sheer determination, we persevered...

I choose to believe that I lost weight today. 6h of cycling over 1000000km. My knees are still burning and I feel like I'm sitting on rocks. But as they say, it's not the journey but the person you're with. We've been through hell and back together. So I think it was really a great great day with great great achievements.

Tomorrow, stay-home, do homework, watch tv... :) I'm dead pooped. Next time I'll bring more people for the sake of watching them suffer with me. Yeeha!

At the end of Five Days...

Ok, if I tell you the name Amelia, you would probably picture a sweet girly-girl who wears flowery dresses and weeps for stray kittens. When my tutorial-mate Amelia stepped in, she was the highlight of the show. She's so bizarre! Look at her!

Compare her to a normal kid in sch (me)

I swear nobody could pull off hippie style like her. Can you wear a round, kindergarten-ish bottle (with sesame street cartoon on it I think?) around your neck? Can you wear 70s squarish nerd specs? Can you wear a Beetles' hairdo?? Yargh! I'm so jealous! She's so confident, its as though wat's she's wearing is the in-thing. The best part of all, she doesn't give a two-cents hoot about wat you guys think. And she's a perfectly nice girl. I like I like I like! Go Amelia!

On Friday, met my Darling Yus! FINALLY. The military stole him away from me for 4 days
you know. Hmph. He was in a mat-jiwang-bawah-blok-mood. Windscreens down, he started crooning/screaming/screeching all jiwang Malay songs he knew. I wasn't a big fan of such songs. But in the end, I was also crooning/screaming/screeching the Malay songs with lyrics I made up along the way since I dunno the original ones. *giggles*

After a 2hr lesson at school, we went t catch Hairspray!

I thought it would be fun ince there're many great actors/actresses in this one. John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Amanda Byrnes, Nikki Blonsky etc etc. And it was great fun! In that 2h, I was smiling and laughing from start to finish though it was late at night. If you want to see political issues like racism and social ideals in a relaxed way, watch this. In an 80s musical setting, the music will help you feel all jiggly and feel as though you want to share your love with the world. But for those who are more slapstick, maybe watching John Travolta being a woman is good enough. Hehehe.

But really, though the plot may be a bit thin, the dancing, the music, the humour are entertaining. It's so weird but cute at the same time to see Travolta dancing/singing around as a woman, wife and mother wat with her manly hands and face. But I think the highlight should be on Nikki Blonsky, who, despite her weight, danced like a feather and bring a childish freshness to the sight. I can go on laaa but it's a great movie. I like I like I like! (P.S: Me and Yus got infected and danced the 80s style all the way back to the car. YEAH!)

When I reached home, I was still hyper from the movie. Good shows are like chocolates to me. So my brother became my victim...

Hhahahahahahahaha. I'm tempted to say the T-word.......................... Tranverstite! *covers mouth* Ain't he preeeeeetty? Hehehehehehehehe. Sorry, Fat Bro. Still love you though. Ahaahahahaha.

I'm a happy happy girl! Cant wait to go cycling tomorrow! Whee!

Cucu Nenek

Sorry but today is sentimental day. Don't ask me why. It's the matter of the heart. Heh.

In my heart there is only one place for one great love. It will always be occupied by that one person and nothing can change it. And who is this person who ruled my heart? It's none other than my lovely Nenek.

Truth be told, I'm no angel baby. I'm very naughty. Loved to cry and cry. But I was cute, so people could not help but like me nonetheless *shakes butt*

The one person who had to withstand most of my nonsense is my Nenek. My parents were working last time and since my brother was with my other nenek, I was sent to another. Every morning when about to go to school I would create a helluva ruckus. Hair not nice lah, uniform not ironed properly lah, my powder too think lah... anything. So that I need not go school and be with my Nenek all day. Of course I couldn't possibly say that to her since I don't even know how to spell my name in full yet. Sometimes she would give up and leave me to cry til I fell asleep.

Nenek had very long hair then. After her bath, she would let down her hair and comb it in front of the fan. Then she would pretend to be a ghost with her long hair covering her face and scare the shite out of me. And she'd laugh and laugh and then hug me.
Whenever it was time for my dad to fetch me home, I would cry and try to hide.

Nenek would say: "Ikah kan anak bapak... Bapak dah datang tu.."

But my reply would always be: "Ikah bukan anak bapak, Ikah cucu nenek....weeeekweeeek"

She loved her granchildren equally and never was biased. Though she never showed her love verbally, you can tell when you're lying in her lap with her stroking your hair. Or when she kisses you no matter if you're still sour from sleep. Or when she hugs you and makes the world better again.

As I grow up, many things pulled me further away from her. There was suddenly no time to visit, no time to call. Family gatherings were the only opportunity for me to see her lovely face. But as much as I want to, it is difficult to find the time. And the worse thing is that she understands.

I guess this is my guilty conscience talking. As much as I hate to admit it, I still cannot leave some time for Nenek. So I've made up my mind. In whatever things I partake, I will do it for her love. I will show her that I will achieve her hopes for me and most importantly, I will show her that I'm still Cucu Nenek.

My Rejuvenation.

What else can I say but that love is grand? How it can change a tiring week to a worthwhile wait for the end... and how this is all done by one man :)

Breakfast-ed at Al-Amin in Woodlands and got our usual dish Teh Ais Limau and reeeal Ice-Cream Prata (after the failed attempt..huhu)

Yus: Ayang, let's go take walk2 and take pictures. Because today I look good.
Me: OK! Eh.. I don't look good?
Yus: Oh yah. You too. Let's go!
Me: (mutters under breath) narcissist.

We zoomed to Sembawang Beach. Surprise surprise. Many old people in wheelchairs pushed by Philipino maids. It wasn't very windy but its probably because it was going to rain. Still, it was nice. What with its wide park trails. And from here, pictures galore!

Then I saw a playground with many many colourful slides! And swings! And monkey bars! But I tagged him and we played catching until I gave up catching the slippery fellow. Of course, I must take a go at the slides. It was surprisingly fast and I was pleasantly surprised...

After all the childish fun, I had to wipe his sweat cause he suddenly became uncapable and sat down looking like this...

Luckily he's cute. So I obliged *chuckles*

Next was rounding at Punggol/SengKang to catch a glimpse of the oh-so-famous Matilda House.

Yus said we can only explore inside next time when we bring along an entourage. Hmph. Chicken.

Sky was getting overcast and either one of us suggested going Changi Village to lunch and then to Changi Walkway for s short before-rain stroll. So vroom- vroom!

More camwhoring ensued upon reaching Changi Walkway...

It was simple enough as the day ended with both of us enjoying company in each other's arms and watching the rain pelting down.

As he goes to his camp to train in the forest tomorrow, I'll once again be knocked up and down by fast-paced uni life *sigh* At least this rejuvenation, though only for a short short while, helps me gather my strength. And knowing that he will always be there to always make my world a better place is good enough for now

Chaucer-ized

Chaucer's been on my mind lately. Canterbury Tales. I find it satirical but enjoyable although the original text in Middle-Age English, is very difficult to read:

When that Aprilis, with his showers swoot,
The drought of March hath pierced to the root,
And bathed every vein in such licour,
Of which virtue engender'd is the flower;

It gets more uncomprehensible. Imagine reading 60 pages of that. The horror. Of course being pampered children of the twentieth century, we don't have to do that. There are interpreted versions and so that's wat we're reading. Still, I'm quite influenced with the language and here I'll try since I got so much time on my hands. For fun. So all you linguists out there pls don't condemn me if I made some serious error in the lang.

Upon the bridge of nose is stood
A new black-framed glass possibly could
Make the face of Ikah freshly swoote*; (*sweet)
More clerical, more desirable to boot.

And through the days the lessons bore
Assignments and projects and lectures galore.
She herselfe nearly turned to wood*; (*mad)
Although it was still not as bad as it could
be, she longe to meet her lover awhile
And ease her tired mind in romantic style. (???wahaha)

To FoodCulture at Lot 1 they wend* (*went)
So gay and merry, hand-in-hand
Small fine dinner and many a-laughter
Made Ikah happier and merrier.

The night black'nd and soon it was
Time to part and then again, of course,
The dreaded feeling to wait another eternity;
For him to finish his service to soveriegnity* (*to serve a Lord a.k.a reservist)
And Ikah with her heart a-dread
Wept and wept til both her eyes bled;
To some others it may be unworthy
But they know not of love bounded by eternity.

Where else could lover be but remain
in the heart, and freshness could I only feign
So here I wait til he comes again
Til then day and night are one and plain.

So much for Chaucer. I think I've lost Chaucer-ism along the way, coz I'm understood after every 2 words. Hahaha. Anyway, hope you enjoyed reading my Chaucer

Good Food, Good Love, Good Weekend.

My weekend was fab. Started with friday nights with Totots. Then as parents went to M'sia on Saturday, Beb came over in the wee hours of the morning (10 am to be exact) to cook breakfast with me! Corned beef and ice-cream prata was the menu.

But I chickened out when cooking the corned beef coz the darned things keep spluttering out of the pan. Oil spots on hands are very unglamorous. Tsk. So Beb took over and Syafiq, my younger brother stood by to give unhelpful comments.

When all was ready, our dishes were as thus:
Ice-cream prata.. Looks good, yes?

Corned beef... Ta-DA!

It is cooked, by the way. And oklah. I admit, it looked like Pedigree or a blobbish creature.

The ice-cream prata was unchewable and tasted of the fridge (dunno how.. not fully thawed?). The corned beef was salty beyond words. But it was good fun. Beb was in denial and insisted that everything was yummy. AHAHA.

Then me and Beb wanted to go out coz I was getting restless not doing anything at home. He actually clapped his hands in glee when I told him he could make me up for the day. *looks up to heaven for reverence*

Luckily I came out whole in that process. My sis gave him 4 stars for his masterpiece. So my boyfriend has a hidden talent in make-up. Not bad.

This is something I think everyone should try. Ayam Bakar Ojolali is actually the name of the shop. The dish is called grilled chicken with sambal. It's at Lucky Plaza, level 3. We chanced upon it while searching for the Ayam Penyet shop to soothe Beb's craving.
The chicken is succulent and marinated well into the bones (I sucked at the bones long after the flesh was gone. Woof.) For those who loves chilli, this one's a bomb. Not too sweet but very spicy. We ate with a small basketfull of prawn crackers and washed it all down with Happy Soda. Happy Soda = Cherryade and condensed milk. Total cost = under $25 for 2. Yuuuuummmeeeee!

Next destination: Holland Village. Believe it or not, it was my virgin trip. The place surprised me with the many hip, alfresco diners and pubs. There was Indochine, 2a.m, Al Hambra, Breeks etc etc. The atmosphere was relaxed, very cosy and at the same time, hip. I thought it was like any other small central places but this one's totally happening. You can practically sit in the middle of some roads cos it is cordoned off from the main road. I saw little ang moh children playing skate-scooters.

But our main aim was to shop dirt cheap. From a helpful source, I got myself 4 decent-looking shirts for only $19 in total *wheeeeee* Call me a cheapskate, I don't care. I still look good wearing those clothes *laughs maniacally*

Next day, me and Beb went out to shop for his army things. Stupid 2 weeks of reservist. Hmph.

We went to Bras Basah to lunch and got his favourite Nasi Ayam Penyet:

Scrumptious. Really. Again the sambal is a good blend of sweet, sour and spicy. Service was fast and we get to enjoy our meal in 5 mins time after order. The drink is what I would called Happy Soda, but it's actualli strawberry ice blended. This one's Yummy too. A great cheap lunch of below $20 for 2. I'm a happy happy girl *big silly grin*

But it was not a too great day for Beb towards the end. He got cheated while we were at the Giant in Tampines.

Giant-looking Giant at Tamp is actually not that gigantic you know.
Beb bought a working pants he thought was $8.90. He was a happy man. Later, the receipt showed it to be $34.90. And he went on and on about how Giant was a gigantic cheat, that it looked big but is actually not, that Giant cheated his money and he's now poor blah blah... Poor baby. hahahahha. Sorry. but, hahahahaha.

After I bought him Timeout and Mineral Water, and gave him a peck on the cheeks, he was again a happy man.

So he will be going for reservist and I must keep myself busy or I'll die missing him. yah yah, mushy, I know. *siiiighs* Cant wait for school to keep me occupied. But! It was a superb, superb
weekend. No doubt. :)

My Beautiful Girls

The title may sound as though I'm pimping, but no, this is about my Tot-tot darlings. Members (me exclusive) are,Faddy-tot-tot , Pe'ah Tot-tot and Nana Tot-tot. The name Tot-tot was invented in one of our happy hours somewhere in secondary school period. Fate was sweet and so last night, we were able to meet up after thousands of generations. But to make sure, needed to constantly check up on the other two 'bueh'-potential members:

But before this, Faddy and I met up at 8 to eat our dinners and caught up on things going on in our lives (though she has a very updated blog..*chuckles*)... And also to talk about the past, sweet bitter or sour. Since we went to Coffee Bean to wait for the other two princesses, old jokes were unavoidably remembered. Very old jokes that are ought to be forgotten I think *raises eyebrow meaningfully at Faddy*

Believe it or not, these drinks made me a joke. I'm not going into details ok. Too embarrassing. But I am now veeeery careful when these drinks are ordered by the Tot-tots *shudders*

And the night took off with Faddy , Nana and Me forcing Pe'ah to drive2 us around to no particular destination. So the night and camwhoring began.. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee~

Then halfway we decided to at least plan to go somewhere:

Faddy: We eat at Changi Village la!
The rest: OK ah!
Pe'ah: But eh.. how to go ah?

Nana: I know! You go "blah" expressway, then turn "blah" exit, then you will pass "blah blah"....
("blah" = I forgot what she said)

Ikah: Yah.. yah... *unsure but dun want to be left out in conversation*

We ended up at Changi Beach because we found out we weren't hungry after all. Faddy led us to a site where we could see aeroplanes taking off..A beautiful and serene place (minus makciks midnight picnic-ing and pakciks fishing).

We played a game involving fingers which Pe'ah called the "Tot-tot-tot-tot-tot...tot-tot". Very relevant. *laughs and slaps knees*

I won some rounds ok. Only abit spastic with my finger coordination. Luckily Nana is with me in this *chuckles*

Then, in that deep hour of the night, our true-camwhore spirit emerged.. With Faddy as our photographer and director for most parts, we came up with these shots:

It was tiring, exhilarating, and of course barrell-full of laughs. With my dying cam batt, I didn't realize we could actually take SO many pictures *laughs gleefully* But it was worth capturing the moment.

To Faddy, thanx for initiating, your humour and for directing our poses. To Nana, thanx for being the ubber naive and amusing one. To Pe'ah, thanx for driving, taking up most of the pix, and your wit. And to us, may this night not be the last.
Love you girls to bits *sweeeeeetest smile and biiiiiiiig hug*

My National Day.

Frankly, it was nothing. The whole day was spent lazing around like dugongs in front of the tv. Or, glue-eyed to the comp. Poor lil Sister is sick... so Mak-eh didn't let her go anywhere *aaawh* . I decided not to catch the fireworks with cuzzy Dya and others so that Sister won't feel left out. Aren't I shweeeet? *bats eyelids rapidly*

To feel the Singapore-Spirit, we ate a very Singaporean meal today. Nasi Ayam! Oklah.. actualli Mak-eh bought it from somewhere since there was no food at home.

I suddenly realised they looked like street people. Probably because both hadn't bathe. Oops. Sorry guys. teehehe

Anyway, more lazing around til the NDP came on Live... Fireworks were the most amazing.. and surprisingly, the government was generous in the fireworks show. Hopefully it's not only because it's the first time NDP's held in a new location. The opera-singers singing along the songs were FANTASMIC! Gave a patriotic feel to the celebrations. Also, looove the lil kids in sea creatures outfit... specially the starfishes flapping their chubby arms. *clapclapclap*

So the whole family lepak-ed..

Mak-eh was the only one buzzing about doing what mothers do.

By the end of the NDP Celebrations, I think all of us were looking like near-perfect sloths.

Oh and if you noticed, I remain unseen due to vanity reasons *chuckles* To be fair, it was not such a bad day. Because looking back, I've been out so much these days it is a rarity for me to be home like this. Eventhough it was slack-til-you-go-whack day, I was close to my family.
And I won't give anything, not even a potentially-fantasmic holiday, for this day.

My Life's A Joke.

I think this is how new bloggers are: With frightening enthusiasm and conviction, they must blog every singly day about every single thing. Wherever they go, they think "I must blog this later". I think I'm caught up in that phase now. God save my soul. Hahahaha.

Anyway, today was National Day Celebrations in my school. So half of my lessons are cancelled *shakes butt*. And also, today is my Final Theory Test (FTT) at 1145. So after my morning lessons, me and Yus and Rashidah, went to eat. Obviously, we were not that interested in watching the celebrations at the parade triangle. Very hot, you know. Finally when we set off, Yus and Rashidah to own homes, and I to BBDC, I realized I was not going to make it in time for my FTT.

You cannot imagine my panic. I ran from bukit gombak mrt station to the centre. And I think it's God's practical joke to make today a sweltering hot day. When I reached there, I was in a mess and drowning in my own sweat.

Entered class at 12 pm sharp in a state of mild hyperventilation due to panic. I sat down, tried to find the mouse and keyboard... and realised it's a touch-screen com *slaps sweaty forehead* So I did my test as though I've studied well enough, but in fact, I only studied while on the mrt and while running. Yes, it is possible to run and read. You should know if you are a last-minute person.

OK so I settled into the test. Then, (I swear it was the work of an unseen force) I accidentally ended the test without completing it. There was no miracle. I failed. FANTASTIC isn't it? *sigh* So I think the next test would be in Oct. If my life is a joke through and through maybe I will fail again because of sudden unexplained causes like forgot how to read English.
Baaah.

First Day of School.

Late. Ran for the bus and barely caught it. Upon reaching boonlay, needed to change to another bus. And the queue was like this:

I'm not exaggerating.

So we ended up nearly half an hour late. But I think we didn't miss out much or receive sarcastic remarks from the lecturer. After a two hour session on basics of grammar, I wanted to go home already. But I still got another 3hrs of lesson and after that, tuition. *groans*

So I met my profs.. and one of my lit tutorial teachers is an ang-moh *wiggle eyebrows* with blue eyes *wiggle eyebrows* dirty blonde (I think somewhere there) hair *wiggle eyebrows* and an unusually pink pink skin. By the end of his lesson, I got a throbbing headache and wanted to go home. Too much lit info.

The last lit tut was a lil bit more fun. The prof is so jiggly and she has this mischievous look about her. Her laughters come in short outbursts and are very infectious. Then she made us do a paragraph on either 'A man' or 'A woman' in 15 mins. The best I could do was to write about a transverstite-wannabe for 'A man'. Hahaha. My head was killing me by then.

Then Beb came to fetch me after tuition. Ate dinner with him and laugh and laugh and laugh. And suddenly my headache was significantly reduced :)

So tomoro is only a 1 hr lesson at 530pm. OH WHAT FUN.

Back to School!

I am ra-ra-raring to go to school! After a week of orientation fiiiinally school starts. No. I'm not a nerd. I just cant stand lazing around at home anymore. Mother will take the opportunity to make me do housechores. The horror.

I'm so excited because:

(1) I'm now an NTU-ian and an employee of MOE ($$$).
(2) A new school life! Home clothes, independent learning, laptops in classes and calling teachers profs.
(3) Cheap school food.
(4) No more housechores :D

I'm aaaall ready. I've bought a new bag, new notebooks, new pencilcase but not enough money for new shoes. Sigh. Everlast has this really comfortable-casual-looking flats that are quite affordable.

Only $33.90 you know.
Comes in other colours. But this is the one I fell in love with. SIGH. Wish for all the money in the world now. *stamps feet*

Anyway, what's unYAY-YAY about school tomoro is that it starts at 830. Yeah. Let's see whether after tomoro I'm still ra-ra-raring to go school or not.

Thinking again, I think maybe the reason I'm all happy and excited is because I bought new things to show off. Heeheehee. *slaps forehead* Oh well. Good luck to me tomoro and also to all whose school terms are starting. Enjoy, darlings!
:)

Orientation in NTU

First day I went to school to register and I made a fwen :D Coincidentally actually. Name's Yusnizar and we both don't know the way to NTU's gym. That place is frighteningly big I tell you. It's like the whole stretch of East Coast with different faculties/hostels everywhere. But without any sea view lah of course *slaps forehead*. Anyway, she was the one who approached me as she thought I was an ntu student. I got this confident look eventhough I'm thoroughly lost. But we managed to find the gym together and registered safely *clap clap*

She is now my essential fren. Essential because without her, I would be missing out on lotsa things like how/when to reg for modules, where to go for briefings. what day must come back for another breifing etc. I got this sleep-with-eyes-open-and-temporary-deaf syndrome that comes especially when I have to pay attention to important things. Adding to my short-term-memory syndrome. All in all, I am actually selenger or blur queen. So Yus is the perfect aide, not forgetting she's also real nice :D

What's memorable about this orientation is that the coordinators call all of us "teachers". They'd go:

"Give a round of applause for yourself, TEACHERS!"

"TEACHERS! Get in your grps to blah blah.."

"You're the best lot of TEACHERS ever!"

It was so weird I could foam in the mouth and go spasmic.

By the way, I'm taking the NTU-NIE route to become a teacher. The Bachelor of Arts course and taking the secondary track. My majors will be in Eng Lang and Eng Lit. There's nothing to waaah-waaah about ok. It's just something I've been longing to do since I was a wee kid :) And pls don't condemn me if there're any errors in my gramm or spelling. Thank you :B

I pray to God this is the right choice for me.

A Little Tale.

Once upon a time, somebody decided to want to share his life with others. He cleared some space in the worldwide web and unexplainably called it a blog. Pretty soon, more than half the world (and still counting) decided to join him. The little space multiplied rapidly to accomodate the world.

However, a decent minority kept aloof despite all the hubbub. A little girl was in that minority. She, like the small others, shared the world's interest but never engaged herself in the blogging thing. One by one, she saw her friends swept away into the magical world of blogging.

"Come join us!" they called out.

"No thank you. I would like to remain aloof, if you please," the girl declined politely.

However, a tiny curiosity kept nudging at her heart. What is this addiction that attracts the world? So over a period of time, she settled down to read blogs.
Suddenly, she saw blogs for what they really are: a new way to keep friendships alive; to share and to be in friends' lives as they would be in hers. She remembered Barney the Purple Dinosaur saying: "It's fun to share!". And so it is.

But she knew she could not keep this new interest alive. Her only computer with Internet access was slowly going senile. It deliberately took up 1/2 hour to load up a page knowing the little girl has no patience. In the end, the little girl gave up using the computer. And after causing much troublesome-ness in the girl's family, the computer finally died of old age. She was distraught.
Then one day, a knight named Sir Father came. He weilded a mighty check and bellowed: "We will be getting a new computer!"

And so, the little girl, with all the joy in the world, revived the old interest that had slowly waned over time. She wants to keep her friends close to her life for they keep her alive. It is fun to share and she can't wait to share her stories with all the people she love.

And she is now living happily ever after.

THE END
